Dell M8024-k Connectivity

Dell M8024-k Connectivity Tube. Duration : 7.98 Mins.

This video details connectivity between Dell blade servers to Enet LAN and FC SAN environments using the Dell PowerConnect M8024-k and a Cisco Nexus top of rack switch. The Dell PowerConnect M8024-k is an FCoE transit switch that can be attached to an external converged data center network and extend an available FCoE fabric. With the 4.2 firmware, the M8024-k utilizes FCoE Initialization Protocol (FIP) to perform functions of FC_BB_E device discovery, initialization, and maintenance. The FIP snooping feature monitors FIP frames and applies policies based on L2 header information in those frames. Added to its previously available Data Center Bridging features, this allows the M8024-k to connect Dell™ M-Series blade servers to an external top-of-rack or end-of-row FCoE Forwarding switch and provide FCoE connectivity to the blade servers.
